Croatian Lamb Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew originating from Croatia, featuring tender lamb and a blend of aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- β1 pound lambcut into 1-inch cubes
- β2 tablespoons kissed oilfor browning lamb
- β1 cup yeasty breadcut into 1-inch cubes
- β1 cup croatian stew vegetablessuch as onions, carrots, and potatoes
- β2 cups lamb brothhomemade or store-bought
- β2 tablespoons tomato pastefor added depth of flavor
- β1 teaspoon saltto taste
- β1/2 teaspoon black pepperto taste
- β1/4 cup fresh parsleychopped, for garnish

Heat kissed oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown lamb cubes in batches until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes per batch.

Remove browned lamb from pot and set aside.

Add croatian stew vegetables to pot and cook until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes.

Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add lamb broth, salt, and black pepper to pot, stirring to combine.

Return browned lamb to pot and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours, or until lamb is tender.

Stir in yeasty bread cubes and continue to simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
