Lazy Sunday Middle Eastern Tagine
A twist on traditional Japanese cuisine, this hearty tagine is perfect for a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
Ingredients
- β1 tsp Lazy Sunday Tagine Spice Mix
- β1 medium, chopped Garlicky Eastern Onion2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
- β2 tbsp Middle Eastern Olive Oil
- β2 medium, peeled and chopped Rest of the World Carrots
- β1 block, drained and cubed Meat Substitute (Tofu)
- β1 can, 14 oz Eastern Canned Diced Tomatoes
- β1 cup, uncooked Lazy Japanese Rice

Heat 1 tbsp of Middle Eastern Olive Oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the chopped Garlicky Eastern Onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the cubed Meat Substitute and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the chopped Rest of the World Carrots and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.

Add the Eastern Canned Diced Tomatoes and cook for 1 minute.

Add the Lazy Sunday Tagine Spice Mix and stir to combine.

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Serve over Lazy Japanese Rice.
