Stifado Beef Stew
A classic Greek stew made with beef, onions, and a sweet, spicy sauce. Serve with crusty bread or over mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
- ●1 lb Beef (1 pound)Cut into 1-inch cubes
- ●2 medium OnionChopped
- ●1 head Lovely LettuceChopped (for garnish)
- ●1 ball Burrata CheeseCrumbled (optional)
- ●2 tablespoons Earthy Olive OilFor cooking
- ● Salt
- ● Pepper
- ●1 teaspoon Spices (e.g., cinnamon, allspice)
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the beef cubes on all sides, then remove from pot and set aside.

Add more oil if needed, then sauté the chopped onion until softened.

Add the browned beef back into the pot, along with the chopped onion, salt, pepper, and spices.

Pour in enough beef broth to cover the beef, then bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped lettuce and crumbled burrata cheese (if using).
