Spicy Turkish Lamb
A fusion of Chinese and Turkish flavors, this spicy lamb dish is a unique twist on traditional cuisine.
Ingredients
- ●1 (1.5 kg) Lamb shoulder
- ●2 tsp Turkish red pepper flakes
- ●2 tbsp Soy sauce
- ●1 tbsp Rice vinegar
- ●1 tsp Brown sugar
- ●2 inches, sliced Ginger
- ●3 cloves, minced Garlic
- ●1 tsp Iskender kebab spice mix
- ●1 cup Water
- ●1/4 cup, for garnish Chopped scallions

Season the lamb shoulder with Iskender kebab spice mix, salt, and pepper.

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Sear the lamb shoulder until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the lamb from the pot and set aside.

Add the sliced ginger and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add the soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and Turkish red pepper flakes to the pot, stirring to combine.

Return the lamb shoulder to the pot and add the water, making sure the lamb is mostly submerged.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover the pot and transfer it to the oven.

Bake the lamb at 300°F (150°C) for 2 1/2 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Remove the pot from the oven and let it cool slightly.

Slice the lamb against the grain and serve with the spicy sauce spooned over the top.
