Slovakian Fried Dumplings
A hearty Slovakian dish featuring fried dumplings smothered in a rich, cheesy sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 package (12-15 dumplings) Slovakian Dumplings (Maultaschen)
- β2 tablespoons Butter
- β1 medium, finely chopped Onion
- β1 cup, grated (such as cheddar or mozzarella) Cheese
- β1/2 cup Milk
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
- β1/2 teaspoon Salt
- β1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- β1/4 cup Bread crumbs

Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add fried dumplings to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes.

In a separate saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

Add grated cheese and stir until melted and smooth.

Add milk, flour, salt, and black pepper to the cheese sauce, stirring constantly.

Bring the cheese sauce to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
