Shrimp and Rice Pilaf
A flavorful and aromatic Middle Eastern-inspired dish featuring succulent shrimp and fluffy rice.
Ingredients
- β1 pound large shrimppeeled and deveined
- β1 cup white rice
- β1 teaspoon pilaf spice
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1/2 teaspoon paprika
- βto taste salt

Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the pilaf spice, paprika, salt, and pepper, and stir to combine.

Add the white rice and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.

While the rice is cooking, heat a separate pan over medium-high heat.

Add the large shrimp and cook until pink and fully cooked, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Serve the shrimp on top of the fluffy rice pilaf, garnished with chopped fresh herbs if desired.
