Ukrainian Quenched Cheese Gratin
A rich and creamy gratin made with Ukrainian-style quenched cheese, perfect for a cozy dinner.
Ingredients
- ●250g quenched cheesesuch as farmer's cheese
- ●2 tablespoons all-purpose flourto thicken the sauce
- ●60g unsalted buttersoftened
- ●1 medium onionchopped
- ●2 cloves garlicminced
- ●1/4 cup fresh parsleychopped, for garnish
- ●1 teaspoon saltto taste
- ●1/2 teaspoon black pepperto taste
- ●150ml heavy creamto thin the sauce

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a large saucepan, sauté the chopped onion over medium heat until softened.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Stir in the quenched cheese until melted.

Add the flour to thicken the sauce, cooking for 1 minute.

Remove from heat and stir in the softened butter until melted.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Transfer the cheese mixture to the prepared baking dish.

Top with chopped parsley and a sprinkle of salt.
