Kenyan-Style Biryani
A flavorful and aromatic one-pot dish originating from Kenya, made with tender meat and a blend of spices.
Ingredients
- ●1 pound Meat (beef or lamb)Cut into 1-inch cubes
- ●1 medium OnionChopped
- ●3 cloves GarlicMinced
- ●1-inch piece GingerGrated
- ●1 cup RiceBasmati or long-grain
- ●2 tablespoons Tomato pasteDiluted with 2 tablespoons water
- ●1 teaspoon Biryani masalaStore-bought or homemade
- ●to taste Salt
- ●2 cups Water

Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and sauté until the onion is translucent.

Add the meat and cook until browned on all sides.

Add the tomato paste, diluted with water, and stir to combine.

Add the biryani masala and stir to combine.

Add the rice and stir to coat with the spice mixture.

Add the water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
