Jamaican Pork Skillet
A hearty and flavorful skillet dish made with rich and smoky pork, inspired by Jamaican cuisine.
Ingredients
- β1 pound pork shouldercut into 1-inch cubes
- β1 teaspoon smoked paprikaadds a smoky flavor
- β2 tablespoons rich brown sugarbalances the heat
- β2 teaspoons jamaican jerk seasoningfor a bold and aromatic flavor
- β1 skilletlarge, oven-safe
- β2 tablespoons olive oilfor cooking
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 scotch bonnet pepperschopped (optional)
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 cup coconut milkfull-fat

Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the pork cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Add the onion, Scotch bonnet peppers (if using), and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.

Add the smoked paprika, Jamaican jerk seasoning, and brown sugar to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.

Pour in the coconut milk and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and braise the pork for 20-25 minutes, or until tender.
