Japanese Stir-Fry with Gooey Sauce
A plant-based Japanese stir-fry dish featuring gooey sauce, perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. You'll need some basic pantry staples and a few simple ingredients.
Ingredients
- β1/2 cup Sour Gooey Sauce (vegan)You can find this in most Asian grocery stores or make your own by mixing together 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- β1 block TofuDrain and press the excess liquid
- β1 cup Plant-based stir-fry mixYou can also use a combination of broccoli, carrots, and bell peppers
- β2 tablespoons Sesame oilYou can also use vegetable oil
- β1 tablespoon GingerGrate and sautΓ© for 1 minute
- β1/4 cup Green onionsChopped and used as garnish
- β1 tablespoon Sesame seedsOptional

1. In a small bowl, whisk together the gooey sauce and 2 tablespoons of water. Set aside.

2. Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

3. Add the tofu and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

4. Add the stir-fry mix and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.

5. Add the ginger and cook for 1 minute.

6. Pour in the gooey sauce and stir to combine.

7. Add the green onions and sesame seeds (if using) and stir to combine.

8. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
