Spiced Chicken Casserole
A Chinese-inspired twist on the classic casserole, featuring spiced chicken and Egyptian spices.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- β2 tablespoons Egyptian spices
- β1 pound Spiced ground beef (or substitute with chicken or tofu for a vegetarian option)
- β1 package Casserole mix
- β2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- β2 cups Rice
- β2 cups Water
- β2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- β1/4 cup Green onions
- β1 tablespoon Sesame seeds

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook the rice according to package instructions. Set aside.

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the spiced ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the Egyptian spices, soy sauce, and cooked rice. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Sprinkle the casserole mix evenly over the top of the chicken mixture.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and the top is golden brown.
