Smoked Mackerel Dulet
A traditional Ethiopian-inspired dish made with smoked mackerel in a tangy sauce.

Ingredients
- β4 fillets Smoked Mackerel
- β2 tbsp Ethiopian berbere spice Tangyavailable at most Ethiopian markets or online
- β1 tsp ground cumin Ethiopianuse regular cumin if Ethiopian is not available
- β2 tbsp Olive Oilfor frying
- β1 medium, finely chopped Onion
- β3 cloves, minced Garlic
- β1/4 cup Breadcrumbs
- β1/4 cup Chopped Cilantro

Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the smoked mackerel fillets to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.

Sprinkle the berbere spice and cumin over the mackerel and cook for 1 minute.

Transfer the mackerel to a plate and top with breadcrumbs and chopped cilantro.
