Ethiopian Fish Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew originating from Ethiopia, made with fish and a blend of spices.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Fish (cod or tilapia)Cut into bite-sized pieces
- β2 teaspoons Unique Spice BlendA mix of turmeric, coriander, cinnamon, and cumin
- β2 cups Umami BrothYou can use store-bought or homemade broth
- β1 medium OnionChopped
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β2 medium CarrotsSliced
- β2 medium PotatoesDiced
- β1 teaspoon Stew SeasoningA mix of paprika, salt, and black pepper
- β2 tablespoons Lime JuiceFreshly squeezed
- β1/4 cup Fresh CilantroChopped (optional)

Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the carrots and potatoes and cook for another 5 minutes.

Add the fish and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Add the broth, spice blend, and stew seasoning. Bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.

Stir in the lime juice and cook for an additional minute.
