Venezuelan Chicken Empanadas
A delicious Venezuelan-inspired dish featuring chicken empanadas with vibrant flavors. Perfect for a snack or light meal.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breast
- β2 cups all-purpose flour
- β1 teaspoon yeast
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 cup vegetable oil
- β1 package empanada doughhomemade or store-bought
- β1 cup shredded cheese
- β1 medium onion
- β2 cloves garlic

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Prepare the empanada dough according to the package instructions.

In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.

Add the chicken breast to the pan and cook until browned.

Shred the chicken and set aside.

On a floured surface, roll out the empanada dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place a tablespoon of shredded cheese in the center of each dough circle.

Add a spoonful of the chicken mixture on top of the cheese.
