Filipino-Style Lumpia with Deodeok and Root Vegetable
A crispy Filipino-inspired snack filled with sweet and savory deodeok and root vegetables. Serve with a side of tangy xtra sauce for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
- β1 medium, peeled and grated Deodeok
- β1 medium, peeled and grated Root Vegetable (such as Carrot or Beet)
- β1 package, thawed Lumpia Wrapper (Filipino Spring Roll Wrappers)
- β1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
- β2 tablespoons Xtra (a Filipino condiment similar to vinegar)
- βto taste Salt
- βchopped, for garnish Fresh Cilantro

Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

In a large bowl, combine the grated deodeok and root vegetable.

Add the salt and mix well.

Lay a lumpia wrapper on a flat surface and place about 1 tablespoon of the deodeok mixture in the center of the wrapper.

Brush the edges of the wrapper with water and fold the wrapper into a triangle, pressing the edges to seal.

Heat the oil in the deep frying pan and fry the lumpia until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
