Algerian Biscuit Tagine
A traditional Algerian dish made with biscuits, perfect for a cozy evening. This tagine is a creative twist on the classic recipe, using biscuits as a substitute for traditional bread.
Ingredients
- β6 Algerian biscuitpreferably day-old biscuits
- β1/2 cup yeasty doughleftover dough from homemade bread
- β2 tbsp butterunsalted
- β2 tbsp honeypure, raw honey
- βpinch cinnamonground
- β1/4 tsp gingerground
- β1/4 cup waterlukewarm

1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

2. Tear the Algerian biscuit into small pieces and place in a mixing bowl.

3. Roll out the yeasty dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch (6 mm) and cut into small squares.

4. Add the butter, honey, cinnamon, and ginger to the mixing bowl with the biscuit pieces.

5. Mix well until the biscuit pieces are evenly coated with the honey and spice mixture.

6. Place a square of dough on top of each biscuit piece, pressing the edges to seal.

7. Place the tagine in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
