Cantonese Bacon and Lardon Dim Sum
A delicious and savory Cantonese-inspired dim sum dish featuring crispy bacon and lardon, wrapped in a yeasty dough.
Ingredients
- β1 package (active dry yeast, 2 1/4 teaspoons) yeasty dough
- β1/4 cup (store-bought or homemade) cantonese dipping sauce
- β4 slices (thick-cut) baconcook until crispy
- β6 slices (thick-cut) lardoncook until crispy
- β1/4 cup (thinly sliced) scallions
- β2 cloves (minced) garlic
- β2 tablespoons soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon (optional) oyster sauce (optional)
- β1 teaspoon sesame oil
- β1 package (round wonton wrappers) dim sum wrappers

1. Preheat a non-stick frying pan or wok over medium-high heat.

2. Cook the bacon and lardon until crispy. Remove from heat and set aside.

3. In a small bowl, mix together scallions, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil.

4. Lay a dim sum wrapper on a flat surface. Place a small spoonful of the scallion mixture in the center of the wrapper.

5. Add a few pieces of cooked bacon and lardon on top of the scallion mixture.

6. Brush the edges of the wrapper with a small amount of water.

7. Fold the wrapper into a triangle by bringing the two opposite corners together to form a point.

8. Press the edges together to seal the dim sum.

9. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling ingredients.
