Ma La Chicken Stir Fry
A spicy Sichuan dish made with marinated chicken, peanuts, and chili peppers.
Ingredients
- β1 lb chicken breastcut into bite-sized pieces
- β2 yellow Chinese chili peppersalso known as Sichuan hot peppers
- β2 tbsp ma la sauceSichuan peppercorn paste
- β1 tsp tang chicken seasoningor substitute with five-spice powder
- β1/4 cup peanutschopped
- β2 tbsp vegetable oilfor stir-frying
Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.

Add the chicken and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from the wok and set aside.

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the wok.

Add the chopped peanuts and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add the Sichuan hot peppers and cook for another minute.

Add the ma la sauce and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.

Return the cooked chicken to the wok and stir-fry until coated with the sauce.

Season with tang chicken seasoning to taste.

Serve immediately and garnish with chopped peanuts and Sichuan hot peppers if desired.
