Woodfired Slovakian Pork Bake
A hearty, woodfired-inspired dish featuring slow-cooked pork in a rich, Slovakian-inspired sauce.
Ingredients
- β1.5 kg Pork shoulderbone-in
- β2 Yellowed onionsthinly sliced
- β2 tsp Woodfired paprikasmoked
- β4 Bake potatoeslarge
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 tsp Saltto taste
- β1 tsp Black pepperto taste
- β2 tbsp Olive oilfor brushing

Preheat the oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F).

Season the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Sear the pork shoulder until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Transfer the pork to a baking dish and set aside.

Add the sliced onions to the same Dutch oven and cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes.

Add the minced garlic to the onions and cook for 1 minute.

Add the potatoes to the Dutch oven and toss to coat with the onion mixture.

Cover the potatoes with the browned pork shoulder and transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven.

Bake for 2.5 hours, or until the pork is tender and the potatoes are cooked through.
