Middle Eastern Shakshuka with Almonds
A flavorful twist on the traditional North African dish, with a crunchy almond garnish. This recipe combines the spices of the Middle East with the rich flavors of shakshuka.
Ingredients
- β1 cup sliced Almonds
- β2 cups Shakshuka
- β1 tsp Middle eastern spice blend (or substitute with a mix of cumin, paprika, and coriander)
- β1/4 cup Zesty chopped fresh parsley
- β2 tbsp Silky olive oil
- βto taste Salt and pepper
- β 4 eggs

Heat the olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat.

Add the sliced almonds and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly toasted and fragrant.

Add the middle eastern spice blend and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Add the shakshuka and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is heated through.

Make 4 wells in the shakshuka mixture and crack an egg into each well.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake at 375Β°F (190Β°C) for 15-20 minutes, until the eggs are cooked through.

Sprinkle with parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve hot, garnished with additional almonds if desired.
