Slovakian Pancakes
Traditional Slovakian pancake recipe made with fermented dough and topped with a variety of ingredients.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Fermented DoughUse store-bought or homemade fermented dough
- β1 EggBeaten
- β1/2 cup Slovakian MilkWhole milk or low-fat milk
- β2 tablespoons ButterMelted
- β1 tablespoon SugarGranulated sugar
- β1 cup BreadCrumbs
- β1 cup Fresh FruitStrawberries, blueberries, or raspberries
- β1 tablespoon Confectioners' SugarOptional

In a large bowl, combine the fermented dough, beaten egg, Slovakian milk, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix well.

Add the bread crumbs to the dough mixture and mix until a smooth batter forms.

Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.

Drop the batter by spoonfuls onto the pan or griddle.

Cook the pancakes for 2-3 minutes, until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges start to dry.

Flip the pancakes and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until golden brown.

Serve the pancakes warm with fresh fruit and confectioners' sugar, if desired.
