Smoked Pork Roulade with Vanilla Cream
A classic French dish featuring a slow-cooked smoked pork roll, served with a rich vanilla cream sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 smoked pork loin
- β1 cup long grain rice
- β1 tsp vanilla extracthigh-quality extract for optimal flavor
- β2 tbsp unsalted butter
- β2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- β1/2 cup grated slovakian cheeseadds a nice savory element

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Season the pork loin with salt and pepper.

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the pork loin and sear until browned on all sides.

Transfer the pork loin to a baking dish and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Slowly pour in 1 cup of milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the vanilla extract and grated Slovakian cheese until melted and smooth.

Roll out the long grain rice on a floured surface to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.

Place the rice on top of the pork loin, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Roll the pork loin tightly and secure with kitchen twine.

Place the roulade in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.

Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving with the vanilla cream sauce.
