Delicious Beef Birria
A hearty and flavorful Mexican dish made with tender beef and a rich, spicy broth. Serve with fresh tortillas, lime wedges, and your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
- β2 pounds beef brisket or beef shankcut into large pieces
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons dried oregano
- β2 tablespoons ground cumin
- β2 tablespoons chili powder
- β2 chipotle peppers in adobo saucechopped
- β4 cups beef broth
- β2 cups tomatoesdiced
- β4 limesjuiced

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the beef in batches until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.

Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the oregano, cumin, chili powder, and chipotle peppers to the pot and cook for 1 minute.

Add the beef broth, tomatoes, and browned beef to the pot.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover the pot and transfer it to the oven.
