Black Treacle Crumble
A traditional Ukrainian-inspired dessert featuring a tangy black treacle filling topped with a crunchy crumble mixture.
Ingredients
- β250g Black treacle
- β1 large apple, peeled and sliced TangyGranny Smith or similar variety
- β150g plain flour CrumbleAll-purpose flour
- β100g cold unsalted butter, cubed CrumbleFor the crumble topping
- β100g brown sugar CrumbleFor the crumble topping
- β50g rolled oats CrumbleFor the crumble topping
- β1 tsp cinnamon CrumbleFor the crumble topping

1. Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apple and black treacle. Mix well to coat the apple slices evenly.

3. Transfer the apple mixture to a 9x9 inch baking dish.

4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cold butter, brown sugar, rolled oats, and cinnamon. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

5. Spread the crumble mixture evenly over the apple mixture.

6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
