Harees Wheat Bowl
A traditional Middle Eastern dish, adapted to be vegan. Harees is a porridge-like dish made from wheat.

Ingredients
- β2 cups hara hareespreferably Middle Eastern harees
- β4 cups water
- β1 cup wheatpreferably whole wheat
- β4 dates
- β2 tbsp coconut oil
- β1 tsp salt

Instructions

Rinse the harees and soak it in water for at least 4 hours.

Drain and rinse the harees again.

In a large pot, combine the harees, wheat, and 4 cups of water.

Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour.

Add the dates and coconut oil to the pot, and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.

Season with salt to taste.

Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
