Traditional Slovakian Pork Casserole
A hearty, French-inspired Slovakian pork casserole recipe that's perfect for a cold evening. Slow-cooked with tender pork and flavorful vegetables, this dish is sure to become a family favorite.

- β1.5 pounds Pork shoulder
- β1 medium Onion
- β4 medium Carrots
- β2 large Potatoes
- β8 ounces Mushrooms
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
- β2 tablespoons Butter
- β1 cup Chicken broth
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper

Preheat the oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C).

Season the pork shoulder with salt and black pepper.

In a large Dutch oven, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the carrots and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Add the mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid and start to brown, about 5 minutes.

Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil.

Add the pork shoulder to the pot and cover with a lid.

Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and cook for 2 1/2 hours, or until the pork is tender and falls apart easily.
