Crispy Thai Empanadas
A fusion of Thai and Uruguayan flavors, these crispy empanadas are filled with aromatic spices and savory beef.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beefground beef
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β4-6 empanadasstore-bought or homemade
- β1 teaspoon aromaticThai red curry paste
- β1/4 teaspoon scorewhite pepper
- β2 tablespoons fatvegetable oil
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.

Stir in the Thai red curry paste and cook for 1 minute.

Season with white pepper to taste.

Place an empanada on a flat surface and spoon some of the beef mixture onto one half.

Fold the empanada in half and press the edges together to seal.

Repeat with the remaining empanadas and beef mixture.

Place the empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush the tops with the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
