Autumn Apple Empanadas with Chinese Twist
A fusion dessert of traditional empanadas filled with caramelized autumn apples and a hint of Chinese spices.
Ingredients
- β2 cups Empanada dough
- β1 cup Autumn applescaramelized
- β1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- β1 tbsp Honey
- β1 tbsp Butter
- β1 egg Egg, beaten
- β2 tbsp Granulated sugar
- β0.5 tsp Cinnamon
- β0.25 tsp Salt

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out empanada dough to 1/4 inch thickness.

Cut into circles using a cookie cutter or a glass.

In a pan, caramelize the autumn apples with butter, cinnamon, and honey.

Add Chinese five-spice powder and granulated sugar to the apples. Mix well.

Place a spoonful of the apple mixture onto the center of each dough circle.

Brush the edges with the beaten egg.

Fold the dough in half to form a half-moon shape and press the edges to seal.
