Autumn Empanadas with Apple Filling
A twist on traditional Italian pastries, these empanadas are filled with a sweet and tangy apple mixture, perfect for the autumn season.
Ingredients
- β2 cups all-purpose flour
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β1/2 cup cold unsalted butter
- β1 large applepeeled and sliced
- β1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- β1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- β2 tablespoons brown sugar
- β1 package (usually found in the frozen food section of most supermarkets) empanada dough

Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Roll out the empanada dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.

Place a spoonful of the apple mixture onto one half of the empanada dough.

Fold the other half of the dough over the filling, pressing the edges together to seal.

Use a fork to crimp the edges of the empanada.

Place the empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
