Tonkatsu Burger
A Japanese twist on the classic burger, with a crispy tonkatsu patty and all the fixings.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds pork chops
- β1 cup all-purpose flour
- β1 cup breadcrumbs
- β1 cup aeratedJapanese-style panko breadcrumbs
- β2 eggs
- β1/2 cup milk
- β1/4 cup croatianDried or fresh parsley
- β4 burger buns
- β4 burger patties
- β1 cup shredded cabbage
- β1/4 cup pickled ginger
- β1/4 cup teriyaki sauce

1. Prepare the pork chops by pounding them thin.

2. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.

3. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, eggs, and milk.

4. In a separate dish, mix together the breadcrumbs and croatian.

5. Dip each pork chop in the flour mixture, then the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the crumbs onto the meat to adhere.

6. Heat about 1/2-inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

7. When the oil is hot, add the coated pork chops and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.

8. Remove the pork chops from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

9. Meanwhile, toast the burger buns by grilling them briefly or baking them in the oven.

10. Assemble the burgers by spreading a layer of teriyaki sauce on the bottom bun, followed by a pork chop, a lettuce leaf, a tomato slice, a cheese slice, and finally the top bun.
